Killkenny is the cleanest city in the country.

A new Irish Business Against Litter survey shows it's returned to the top spot for the 5th time.

77 percent of the 40 towns and cities assessed by An Taisce have been found to be clean.

Ballymun in Dublin is the most littered place in the country.

It's been deemed a 'litter blackspot', Dublin's North Inner City is seriously littered, while Limerick City South, Cork's Northside and Cork City - Mahon are deemed littered.

“Today’s tourists demand high levels of cleanliness and these results indicate that’s what they will be getting this year when they come to Ireland,” says IBAL’s Conor Horgan.

“It is also important that their first impression be a good one, so it’s pleasing to see the roads around Dublin Airport are again to Clean to European norms.”
