A British man has appeared in court charged in connection with a major heroin seizure in Dublin.

He's one of three men who were arrested after the discovery of €1 million worth of heroin at a B&B in the south-west of the city on Saturday.

One of the men has since been released without charge, while another remains in Garda custody.

The third man - 55-year-old Kuldip Singh with addresses in Birmingham in the UK, as well as in Dublin 6 - appeared before Blanchardstown District Court this morning.

He sat silently during the short hearing wearing blue jeans, an orange t-shirt, and a blue coat.

Detective Garda Gavin Curran told the court that Mr. Singh was charged yesterday evening at Clondalkin Garda Station for possession of drugs and possession with intent to sell or supply.

When the charges were put to him, the accused replied: "I had no knowledge of the drugs".

There was no application for bail and Mr. Singh has been remanded in custody to appear at Cloverhill District Court next Tuesday.
