A man (40s) has died after being hit by a truck in Cork.
The incident happened on the N27 main Cork to Kinsale Road at around 1:15 this afternoon.
The man was driving on the road but crashed into a ditch.
He then got out of the car but was hit by an oncoming truck.
The driver of the truck was uninjured but treated at the scene for shock.
Garda forensic collision investigators conducted an examination of the scene and the road has since reopened.
Gardai are appealing for witnesses.
