Gardaí have charged a 20-year-old man in connection with the attempted abduction of a woman in Dublin.

The 60-year-old was approached by a man on Monday morning in the Martin's Grove/Blackhorse Aveneue area, who attempted to force her into the boot of a car.

She managed to escape and the man then drove off in the direction of Dublin city centre.

Yesterday Gardaí arrested a man over the incident, but he was released from custody this morning.

However he's since been re-arrested and charged, and is due to appear before Blanchardstown District Court tomorrow morning.
