An investigation is underway after a fire broke out at a Garda Station in Co. Monaghan this morning.
Emyvale Garda Station was badly damaged in the fire, which broke out at around 5am.
In a statement this morning, gardaí said the building had suffered "extensive damage", but that no one was injured.
The station was closed and no gardaí were working there at the time.
Gardaí and emergency services are still at the scene of the incident.
The scene is being preserved so a full garda forensic examination can take place.
