A new report shows house prices are stabilising.

Property website MyHome.ie says asking prices fell slightly between July and September, by 1.3% nationally and 1.1% in Dublin.

Nationally the median house price was €320,000, a 1.3% fall in the third quarter compared to April and June. However, it represents a 7.8% increase on prices in the past year.

In Dublin the median price between July and September was €420,000, a 1.1% drop on the previous three months, but a 6.2% increase in in the past year.

When Dublin is excluded, the median price was €275,000, which represents a fall of 1% in the third quarter compared to April and June, but a 9% increase since a year ago.

Myhome.ie says seasonal patterns, along with an increased supply caused the slight fall in prices during the summer months, but demand remains strong.

But the listings website says property price inflation set to rise by 6% this year and by 3% in 2023.
