Pat Hickey is to pay a bond of 410-thousand euro and accept the terms laid down by a Brazilian judge - in order to have his passport returned to him.
A judge ruled earlier this week that he could return to Ireland for medical treatment.
His lawyer said this evening that the money will be deposited but it's still not clear who will be paying.
A spokesperson for the Olympic Council of Ireland yesterday said they would not be footing the bill.
The 71 year old is facing charges relating to alleged ticket touting at the Rio Olympics.
He has denied all allegations made against him.
