Hungary has rejected an EU offer to relieve it of 54 thousand asylum-seekers, saying it did not want to have any part in the quota scheme.

Meanwhile Denmark's Integration Minister has said the country won't take one single EU quota refugee, claming the country has already taken its fair share.

In Dublin, large crowds are expected to attend a demonstration this afternoon to show solidarity with refugees.

The rally, organised by the group United Against Racism, takes place at the Spire on O'Connell Street at 2pm.

A range of speakers will call for more refugees to be allowed into the EU, so that "not one child" is left behind in war-torn regions like Syria and Afghanistan.

Jim Roche of the Irish Anti-War Movement also wants greater clarity from the Irish government on how the new refugees will be treated in this country:

Elsewhere, thousands of people are expected to march through central London this lunchtime in protest at the government's handling of the refugee crisis.

They'll call on David Cameron to do more than take in up to 20-thousand asylum seekers from Syria.

Many more are continuing their journey across Europe - with record numbers crossing the border between Macedonia and Greece in recent days.
