Kevin Lunney has told the Special Criminal Court that he pleaded with a gang of men not to kill him during an alleged abduction two years ago.

The Chief Operating Officer of Quinn Industrial Holdings has given his evidence in the trial of four men accused of falsely imprisoning him and causing him serious harm.

From the witness box this morning, Kevin Lunney told the non-jury court that after being bundled into the boot of a black Audi outside his home in Fermanagh on September 17th 2019, he was taken to what he believed to be a horsebox, where he claims he was told to resign from QIH.

When one of his alleged captors raised concerns about DNA, he said he was stripped down to his boxer shorts and doused in bleach.

After being told they had to “rough him up,” he said his leg was broken with what he thought was a wooden fence post.

He also described being cut in the face and he said the letters Q-I-H were carved into his chest before he was removed from the container and dumped on the side of a road in Cavan where a man in a tractor came to his aid.

Before the gang left him, he said he was warned that if he told the guards about “a gang of Dubs,” they’d kill him – a threat he said he took seriously.
