A pregnant woman accused of murdering two-year-old Santina Cawley has been further remanded in custody.
35-year old Karen Harrington appeared before Cork District Court this morning.
Last Wednesday, Harrington, with at an address at Lakelands Crescent, Mahon was arrested just before 8 am.
She was taken to the Bridewell Garda Station where she was charged with the murder of Santina Cawley at Elderwood Park, Boreenmanna Road on July 5th last.
After being cautioned - she replied "I don't understand why I'm getting charged. I didn't murder no one"
In court today, Barrister Paula McCarthy said there was a bail application pending in the high court and they were applying for a 2-week adjournment.
Judge Mary Dorgan remanded Karen Harrington in continuing custody until September 6th.
