A former NAMA official is due to be sentenced this morning for disclosing confidential information to two investment companies in 2012.

Enda Farrell from Dunboyne in Co. Meath passed on valuations for various portfolios on the agency’s books.

The valuations related to hundreds of properties in Ireland and Germany.

Enda Farrell, a 40-year-old father of three, also passed on details relating to the loans of developer Paddy McKillen.

Most of the information was sent to two individuals at QED Equity Limited and a person at Canaccord Genuity Limited.

The information was described as “potentially commercially valuable” but the court heard he didn’t make anything out of the disclosure and NAMA wasn’t at a loss because of it.

He is now out of work and was described in court last month as a “broken young man” who has compromised his future career prospects.

His barrister has asked for leniency given his circumstances and his extraordinary level of co-operation with the investigation.

He’s due to be sentenced later this morning.
