It's emerged that a woman shot in the neck in Cork city was visiting her boyfriend in the house at the time.

Two people are being questioned over the shooting in Hollyhill in the early hours of yesterday morning.

The 21 year old woman was shot through a downstairs window of the house in the Hollywood Estate, and has undergone surgery.

Her condition is described as not life threatening.

She was with another woman and two men at the house, when the shooting happened.

Gardai say the victim was extremely lucky to survive as the bullet narrowly missed her jugular vein.
