Status Yellow Rainfall Warning For Six Counties

A status yellow rainfall warning comes into effect today for six counties.

The alert is in effect from 10 am on Wednesday until 1 pm on Thursday.

Counties Cork, Kerry, Waterford, Carlow, Kilkenny, Wexford and Wicklow are set to be affected.

Meteorologist with Met Éireann, Linda Hughes, is warning that localised flooding, poor visibility and difficult travelling conditions are all possible.

"There could be some heavy bursts of rain that could cause some poor visibility and some difficult travelling conditions as well with some surface water possible on the road.

"So take care if you're travelling today and tomorrow morning as well.

"So there could be some spot flooding right throughout this period."
