A race horse trainer in Co Westmeath estimates recent flooding will cost him more than 30 thousand euro to repair, and itÂ’s the second time in just six years.
Tom Cleary had to shift his race horses out of his property in Carrick O’Brien near Athlone in early January, as up to 3 feet of water soaked the land for nearly a month.

Many of his training facilities are badly damaged so he’s keeping some of his horses in the Curragh in Co Kildare and has to travel there every morning to train them.
