A taxi driver who sexually assaulted a young woman while she was asleep in the front passenger seat of his car has been jailed for four years.
Gerard Gunnery Senior, of Ellenfield Road, Whitehall, Dublin, picked her up as she made her way home after a night out just before Christmas 2017.
When she woke up and asked him what he was doing, the court heard he dragged her out of his taxi and left her on the side of the road.
The 60-year-old father of six was caught thanks to the quick-thinking of the woman, who managed to take a photo of his reg as he sped away.
