Roscommon saw the highest temperature in the country yesterday at 26.8 degrees.

Elsewhere Met Éireann's weather station at Casement Aerodrome in Dublin recorded 25.7 degrees.

While Roches Point in Cork had the lowest at just under 18 degrees.

Temperatures are expected to hit as high as 25 degrees today but it will be cooler in southern and eastern coastal areas.

And the good weather is forecast to stick around over the bank holiday weekend.

Met Eireann says it will be mostly warm and mostly dry through the weekend with current indications that it will continue for early next week before turning cooler and less settled.
