The United States is to take in more refugees from around the world to try to help with the on-going crisis.

The U.S. Secretary of State wants to accept 85,000 next year, rising to 100,000 in 2017.

They had previously agreed to 70,000 refugees.

John Kerry hasn't said how many will be from Syria but has confirmed that Washington is ready to help.

EU Ministers are still divided over plans to relocate 140,000 refugees around the continent.

Meanwhile, 13 refugees including 6 children, have died after a boat hit another vessel and capsized off the Turkish coast.

46 people were on-board and heading towards Greece when it happened.
