The head of the European Council Donald Tusk is meeting with Turkey's Prime Minister and President today, as the migrant crisis shows no sign of easing.
The talks come as figures show a record 1.2 million people crossed Europe's borders last year.
Meanwhile a court in Turkey has today jailed two Syrians over the drowning of toddler Alan Kurdi last year.
The 3-year-old boy drowned in the Mediterranean sea in September 2015.
His image made global headlines after he was photographed face down in the water.
