Gardai are investigating the discovery of two bodies at two homes in Dublin.
The body of a man was found at a house in Ballyfermot, while the body of a boy was found in a follow up search in Clondalkin.
Gardai and emergency services were called to a house in Cherry Orchard in Ballyfermot at around 8.30 this morning.
There they found the body of a man in his 40s.
During follow up enquiries, the body of a 12 year old boy was found at a house in Clondalkin.
Both locations have been preserved for a technical exam.
The body of the man has been taken to the city morgue, while the body of the boy remains at the scene.
Post mortem exams are due to take place, and gardai say the results will determine the course of the investigation.
A garda spokesperson says: "Gardaí are investigating all of the circumstances surrounding the discovery of two bodies at domestic residences in Ballyfermot, Dublin 10 & Clondalkin, Dublin 22, on Thursday 8th January 2026.
