Two addresses in Northern Ireland have been searched by police investigating the deaths of 39 people found in the back of a lorry.

The 25-year-old driver, who's from County Armagh, is still being questioned.

The bodies were discovered in a trailer in Essex which arrived from Belgium yesterday morning.

The truck is registered in Bulgaria to a company owned by an Irish citizen.

Essex Police believe the container was transported from Belgium to the UK on Tuesday night, and gardaí are satisfied the deceased were not trafficked through Ireland.

Police Officers have not yet established the identities of the victims, who included a teenager.
