A woman has been killed in a suspected hit-and-run in county Kildare.
It happened in Newbridge last night.
Gardaí were called to Thomas Street in Newbridge at around 8pm last night.
A woman in her 40s had serious injuries after it was suspected she was hit by a car.
She was taken to Naas General Hospital where she was pronounced a short time later.
A man in his 50s has since been arrested.
He's being held at Kildare Garda Station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act.
