Bournemouth, Watford and Norwich all came up from the Championship last season but the odds are against all three remaining in the Barclays Premier League.

Bournemouth have never been in the top flight and it’s all the more remarkable they’ve reached the promised land given that they were almost relegated from the Football League in 2009.

Eddie Howe has worked wonders with the club he played for and they finished top of the Championship mainly because they scored goals for fun.

Callum Wilson bagged 20 league goals and has since committed his future to the club but we know Bournemouth won’t score as many goals this season due to a step up in level.

Republic of Ireland midfielder Harry Arter is one of their main men although we’ll have to wait a while to see him in action due to an injury he picked up on international duty with Martin O’Neill’s squad.

Matt Ritchie is another player to look out for after 15 goals and 17 assists last season which has also helped him become a Scottish international.

Howe has added to his squad with defenders Sylvain Distin and Tyrone Mings arriving from Everton and Ipswich respectively.

Former Celtic goalkeeper Arthur Boruc has made his move permanent from Southampton having spent last season on loan at Dean Court. Adam Federici is likely to serve as back up following his move from Reading.

The attacking players to arrive at the club are Joshua King from Blackburn, Christian Atsu on loan from Chelsea and more recently Lee Tomlin has signed from Middlesbrough while former Leeds striker Max Gradel has joined from Saint Etienne.

Bournemouth have defied the odds to get to the Premier League and they’ll fancy their chances of starting with a positive result at home to Aston Villa this weekend but it could be a long season ahead for the Cherries although I’m sure their fans still think this is all a dream.

Watford would have been crowned Championship winners only for the injury time goal they conceded to Sheffield Wednesday on the final day of the season.

However they still got promoted under their fourth manager of the season, Slavisa Jokanovic who has since left.

His replacement, Quique Sanchez Flores, a man who has won the Europa League and Copa del Rey with Atletico Madrid so he arrives to the Premier League with some pedigree.

However will that be enough if Watford don't hit the ground running on their return to the top flight after an eight year exile.

The club is owned by the Pozzo family and they've shown they're not afraid of change.

The Hornets have brought in nine new players as well as signing Matej Vydra on a permanent deal.

Vydra along with Troy Deeney and Odion Ighalo scored 57 league goals between them last season with Deeney bagging 20 plus league goals for a third successive season.

Etienne Capoue has joined from Tottenham Hotspur and former West Ham midfielder Valon Behrami has also made the switch from Hamburg.

Jose Holebas made the move from AS Roma and they've also brought in Allan Nyom from Granada, Sebastian Prodl from Werder Bremen, Miguel Britos from Napoli, Jose Manuel Jurado from Spartak Moscow and Steven Berghuis arrived from AZ Alkmaar.

On paper it looks like a decent squad but it will be a case of how quickly can Flores and the players gel together.

Watford looked shaky at the back on numerous occasions last season and although they came from behind to win regularly it's unlikely they'll have the same luxury in the Premier League.

Their goalkeeper Heurelho Gomes has experience in the top flight with Tottenham but that wasn't the best experience as most Spurs fan will recall.

With so many new players and a new manager I expect Watford to be battling relegation with the other promoted sides but 17th place will do and they could well achieve that.

Norwich only spent a season in the Championship and have some players in their squad who know what it takes to survive in the Premier League having stayed in the top flight for three consecutive seasons.

Manager Alex Neil turned 34 during the summer and he's impressed so far as a manager. The Scot replaced Neil Adams in January and led the Canaries to 15 wins in their final 22 league games. He arrived at Carrow Road from Hamilton Academical having won promotion to Scotland's top flight in his first full season in charge.

Neil will relish his first full season in charge with Norwich and of the three promoted sides they probably have the most expectant fans.

Irish supporters will have an interest in their season with Wes Hoolahan and Robbie Brady in the squad. Brady didn't have to wait long to get back into the Premier League after the disappointment of relegation with Hull.

Andre Wisdom has joined on loan from Liverpool for the season while Youssouf Mulumbu and Graham Dorrans have also signed up.

They could probably do with adding some more players at the back given the calibre of attackers they'll be facing.

Cameron Jerome bagged 18 league goals last season but he's never reached that total in the Premier League and he'll need help once more from Gary Hooper, Bradley Johnson and Lewis Grabban.

Nathan Redmond is a player that excites the supporters as the 21 year old continues to improve.

Vadis Odjidja is the forgotten man after only one league start last season due to injury so now would be a good time for the Beligian International to make an impact.

The key to survival is to pick up some points on the road, something QPR couldn't really do as they struggled on the road for most of the season.

That's been the problem for Norwich the last two times they were relegated from the Premier League - only two wins from 38 away games in those two seasons.
