It's another hurdle cleared in the quest for a league and cup double for Chelsea.
Having safely jumped Manchester United this evening, they might be approaching Tottenham two-out with a sense of trepidation. Antonio Conte's side have only fallen once since the end of October, but on that night at White Hart Lane they were well and truly schooled by Dele Alli and Spurs.
It wasn't quite the 4-0 drubbing in October, but once again Jose Mourinho had an unhappy return to Stamford Bridge. And once again the incredible N'Golo Kante got on the scoresheet.
Of the tens of thousands in Stamford Bridge, not many expected him to have a crack from 25 yards out to break the deadlock on 51 minutes. Paul Pogba certainly didn't, who failed to close down his fellow Frenchman at the edge of the area. David De Gea might also have been surprised, looking quite slow to dive as the shot curled into the bottom corner.
De Gea can't take much blame for the defeat though, pulling off two spectacular first half saves to deny Eden Hazard and Gary Cahill in the space of a minute.
2 great saves from @D_DeGea 1st half, might need some more in the 2nd I think #CHEMUN #FACup 🙌

United looked sharp early on, but their tactic of shutting down Hazard proved costly when Ander Herrera was sent off on 35 minutes. On both occasions he took the Belgian out, and with the second of those coming after referee Michael Oliver gave United's players a clear warning for persistent fouling, they can have few complaints at seeing Herrera leave the game early.
And with Henrikh Mkhitaryan following Herrara out of the game within seconds - replaced by Marouane Fellaini - the chances of a United goal dropped dramatically.
Marcus Rashford came close soon after Kante's opener, but after leaving Gary Cahill for dead on the counter attack, his low shot was well saved by Thibaut Courtois.
It was as close as they got to finding an equaliser, with Chelsea comfortably holding out to keep a double on the cards for Antonio Conte.
Arsenal and Manchester City will meet on the other side of a mouthwatering semi final lineup. Who said the FA Cup was dead?
