Dundalk raid Brentford again for Wales U21 international Joe Adams

Dundalk have conducted another raid on Brentford for Wales U21 international, Joe Adams.

His arrival follows that of goalkeeper, Nathan Shepperd from the B's B-team last week.

Attacking midfielder Adams spent the latter part of last season on loan at League Two Grimsby Town, scoring once in seven appearances.

Adams scored his first goal for Wales' U21s in a friendly against the Republic of Ireland in March of last year.

“This is a great opportunity for me and I am really looking forward to it,” Adams told dundalkfc.com. “I’m at the stage of my career where I need to be playing first-team football, so it’s an opportunity I’m really looking to take.”

Dundalk head coach Stephen O'Donnell said, “Joe is a player with a great pedigree and he’s very technically gifted.

“He can play off both feet and he’s good athletically. We’re really looking forward to seeing him play. He’s a quality addition and he is a player who will really excite our fans.”

Adams' arrival continues the two-way traffic between Brentford and Oriel Park. Last summer saw the now Premier League side take Val Adedokun from Dundalk, with Shepperd saying Adedokun helped convince him to move the other way.

“I’ve known Nathan for the past three years and we also play with the Welsh U21s,” said Adams. “He’s a really close friend of mine and it’s great that he’s here at Dundalk. It will make it a lot easier for me to settle.”
