Will you be making a call to your bank or credit union this morning?

Tens of thousands of the Green Army are hoping to register for EURO 2016 tournament tickets when they become available this morning.

Supporters can apply to get their hands on some of the 800,000 tickets from 11am through the official Uefa portal before it closes on January 18.

This will be the last chance for fans to book their place in France.

All applicants will be notified by the end of February 2016 at the latest, and may then be given a second opportunity to apply depending on availability.

But the Green Army will face a daunting 1,400km trek across France if they wish to see all of Ireland’s three group games next June.

Martin O’Neill’s men begin on June 13 at the Stade de France against Sweden, before making the 580km-plus journey to Bordeaux for the clash with Belgium, currently top of the world rankings.

For our third game in the group, fans will have to travel from the southwest of the country up to the Stade Pierre Mauroy in Lille for the final clash with Italy.

Tickets start at €25 to €145 for the group matches, although prices for the opening game involving hosts France are much higher, going from €75 to €595.

Tickets for the round of 16 matches remain the same as the group stages, while the quarter-final prices are between €45 and €195.

Semi-final tickets range from €65 to €495, while the final will cost between €85 and €895.

Anyone hoping to apply for Ireland tickets must be a citizen of the country.
