I have heard it all now.

The former Sunderland player Asamoah Gyan is among a group of 46 players deemed to have 'unethical hair' under United Arab Emirates FA guidelines. He's on loan right now from Shanghai.

There is an issue with a breach of Islamic custom. Some teachings ban 'Qaza' hairstyles, where only part of the head is shaved. A warning can be followed by a fine and a suspension. Gyan has accepted the charge and he's going to get his hair nicely in order now.

One has to respect a country's ethics, religion and traditions, but I can't imagine this in GAA circles ahead of the All Ireland Finals! Sure they allowed Gerry McInerney wear white boots in the 1980s!

So I asked the good natives of Ireland on Twitter to come up with the sporting short back and sides that went badly wrong and ended up offending the style police, not on religious grounds.
