Kerry make just one change for Super 8 meeting with Mayo

Kerry manager Peter Keane has made just one alteration to his starting XV for Sunday's Super-8 clash with Mayo in Killarney.

Micheál Burns comes in at wing-forward for Jack Barry, with Diarmuid O'Connor slotting back into midfield alongside David Moran.

Keane hasn't yet revealed the make-up of his bench, but sounded positive notes on the fitness of Barry, James O'Donoghue and Killian Young when speaking to The Kerryman this week, "At the moment, things are pretty ok. But, touch wood, right now we are injury free. James O’Donoghue is back training and going well.

"We are confident enough that Jack Barry is in good shape. Killian Young is back training again and while he hasn’t had much match practice done, he is available."

Kerry haven't played since their Munster final win over Cork on June 22nd, while Mayo have been leaping the weekly hurdles of the qualifiers over the past few weeks. Speaking with Radio Kerry this week, Keane says the difference in preparation is stark, "It does make it a bit difficult that you don't know who you're playing.

"With Clare, you knew months and with Cork you knew three-weeks beforehand who you were playing.  Whereas this is 7-days to prepare for it. But look, at the same time we knew we were going to have a game coming so you're preparing for that but you don't know your opponent."

Kerry team to play Mayo:

1. Shane Ryan (Rathmore)

2. Jason Foley (Ballydonoghue)
3. Tadhg Morley (Templenoe)
4. Tom O'Sullivan (Dingle)

5. Paul Murphy (Rathmore)
6. Jack Sherwood (Firies)
7. Gavin White (Dr. Crokes)

8. David Moran (Kerins O'Rahilly's)
9. Diarmuid O'Connor (Na Gaeil)

10. Micheál Burns (Dr. Crokes)
11. Sean O'Shea (Kenmare)
12. Stephen O'Brien (Kenmare)

13. David Clifford (Fossa)
14. Paul Geaney (Dingle)
15. Dara Moynihan (Spa, Killarney)
