Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson is expected to be available for Thursday night's Premier League game away to Tottenham.

Liverpool say Henderson missed the defeats to Burnley and Manchester United due to a "minor fitness concern."

The 30-year-old trained fully on Tuesday and should come back into Jurgen Klopp's starting 11 against Spurs.

Joel Matip will also be available after he was left out for Sunday's FA Cup game against United but the defender had only returned from injury against Burnley.

Klopp said in his pre-match press conference on Wednesday: "No new cases [injuries] and Hendo and Joel trained yesterday with the team fully.

"Like always with these things we have to see how they react overnight and what they can do today, but they trained yesterday."

Liverpool beat Spurs 2-1 at Anfield in December when it was a meeting of the top two but the champions have only one league win since that game.

"Things have changed," Klopp said.

"We want to make sure the next month is more positive but we cannot change last month. I’m not only a good weather coach.

"For all circumstances, we need to have the right answers and that is to respond.

"Keep the things that are good and change some others. We played some good stuff against United and we have to be more consistent.

"We play Tottenham and we have to go game by game. Is it difficult? Yes.

"That is how it is in every Premier League game."

Although most of the focus is on the back four, scoring goals has been more of a problem for the Reds but Klopp is confident it won't be long before that changes.

"Football is like this. We are losing trust and faith far too quickly," said Klopp.

"Everything is great or the opposite. There are so many stages in between. I see them [the forwards] working on everything, and we are working as a team on solutions.

"It is a complex game and it is never about one person. We have to become the team we want to be, and that is the team nobody wants to play against.

"At the moment, every team is defending deep but we have another chance tomorrow night.

"People tell us we are the best team in the world, which we are not, but it's not a problem. We have to prove it again and strike back.

"The more negative things that are said about us, maybe the more we want it."
