Feeling a bit down? Family, work or financial worries upsetting you? Don't be afraid to open up. And involve things in your daily routine that will help you feel better about your situation and help put you in control. Whether it's lack of sleep or overwork sometimes we all feel unable to cope with things. However sometimes whether due to shyness or embarrassment, some, in what to everyone else seem like minor issues, take their own lives.

A partnership between the GAA and HSE aims to bring the message of taking control over your life to communities around Ireland. What community in Ireland hasn't been effected by suicide?

The only thing certain about it is the sadness that's felt by those left behind. The issue of suicide was was raised on this week's Championship Sunday.

Now the GAA and the Health Services Executive have partnered up to highlight measures that may help those struggling with their mental health for the hashtag little things campaign which is also supported by Mental Health minister Helen McEntee niece of the new Meath senior football manager Andy.

Less than four years ago, Helen's own family was touched by tragedy when her father, Shane McEntee, then Minister of State for Food, took his own life just two days after his 56th birthday.

Cork camogie star Aisling Thompson is among the GAA stars backing the initiative opening up about her own struggles.

Also involved are Galways Gary Sice.

  and Cavan's Alan O'Mara.

They are messages that should resonate far and wide. For more check out yourmentalhealth.ie

and forward to anyone you think might benefit from them.
