So Dublin are now the proud owners of the longest unbeaten streak in GAA history, stretching to 35 games and past the 84-year-old record set by Kerry.

Roscommon provided little credible opposition as the Rossies dropped to Allianz League Division 2 for next season.

Dublin emerged 2-29 to 0-14 winners and you've got to admire their consistency.

Paul Flynn and Bernard Brogan made their first starts of the season and both players, invigorated by their extended break, looked as eager to impress as a couple of rookies making their debuts.

Flynn, in particular, was sensational and it appears he is as good as ever contributing 1-6.

The match was effectively over at half time as the Dubs were ahead by 1-14 to 0-6 at the break.

The more worrying aspect for the 31 other counties is the quality of players Dublin could afford to leave on the bench.

Jack McCaffrey on for Darren Daly 5 minutes after the restart. Former under 21 Player of the year Conor McHugh on for Dean Rock. Diarmuid Connolly on for Brian Fenton.

And Michael Darragh Macauley for Ciaran Reddin.

Four players of the year in succession! It looks like it could be another Blue September!

Spring experimentation drawing to a close

Pat Horgan ran riot for Cork senior hurlers in their Allianz League tie with Munster rivals Tipp at Pairc ui Rinn indicating that talk of a rebel hurling demise is likely to have well evaporated by the time the provincial championship is up and running.

The Leesiders emerged 26 points to 3-16 winners over the Premier - Tipperary’s first defeat since winning last year’s All-Ireland crown and a result that underlines the size of the Dubs achievement in the modern game.

Tipp had already made the League's last 8 and their manager Michael Ryan opted to field less than half the team that started the September final against the Cats.

Horgan hit the winner deep in injury time, as Kieran Kingston’s side finished in second place in the Division 1A table representing solid spring progress for the southerners.

For the Tipp boss it looks like it's time for him to make a call on his summer 15 ASAP.

Whats the story with international rugby contracts?

Putting aside the blue and gold/Munster glasses you'd wonder about the thinking around Ireland's international player contracts.

Munster and Ireland second row Donnacha Ryan seems set for a shock move to the French Top 14 next season,

The Nenagh native will seemingly link up with former Munster and Ireland out-half Ronan O’Gara at Racing 92 this summer on a two-year deal.

Ryan was not involved in Munster’s 50-14 rout of Zebre in the Guinness Pro12 in Parma over the weekend as he was one of a number of Ireland internationals involved in the 6 Nations Championship, handed some down time.

News of Ryan’s impending departure comes just days after Munster confirmed the departure of another Tipperary second-row, Dave Foley, to French Top 14 side Pau for next season.

Thirty three-year-old Ryan, who made his Munster debut in 2004, earned his 47th international appearance for Ireland against England in the RBS 6 Nations.

Before you say 'what does Collins know?', was he not one of the Munster/Ireland warriors in recent seasons?

Seems disappointing particularly in light of his contribution to this season's championship. And a move to France would probably signal the end of his international career. Others I have spoken to on the subject are telling me that rugby is 'run as a business nowadays'. No room for sentiment then. Still seems a bit harsh.
