Munster fans will have an anxious wait over the next 12 days, as CJ Stander continues to try fight off an ankle injury in time for the Champions Cup semi final with Saracens at the Aviva Stadium.

The versatile back row missed out on Saturday's Pro 12 win against Glasgow in Cork, having injured his ankle in the win against Toulouse at Thomond Park.

After the game against Glasgow, Director of Rugby Rassie Erasmus said Stander was unlikely to be available for this weekend's Irish derby with Ulster in the Pro 12, with the province's injury update this afternoon stating that he and Conor Murray "will continue to be monitored by the medical team". Murray hasn't played since suffering a shoulder stinger in Ireland's Six Nations defeat to Wales a month ago.

James Cronin could also be a doubt for the trip to the Aviva Stadium. He injured his knee in the 10-7 win against Glasgow, and will have a scan to determine the extent of the damage.

Tyler Bleyendaal and Donnacha Ryan were also among those to pick up knocks at the weekend. The pair suffered concussions at Irish Independent Park, and are following the return to play protocols.

Ulster say Jared Payne could miss this weekend's game at Thomond Park, after suffering a sprained ankle in the draw against Cardiff on Friday.

However, Chris Henry has recovered from injury and should be available for selection.

Meanwhile Leinster appear to have given up hope on Jamie Heaslip being fit for their semi final against Clermont in Lyon.

The number eight has been out of action since a procedure on his lower back at the end of the Six Nations, with scrum coach John Fogarty today saying they're unsure when he'll be able to return to action.

Rob Kearney is also expected to miss out, having had surgery on a bicep injury at the start of April.
