All Ireland winner Peter Crowley has called time on his inter-county career with the Kerry senior footballers.

The 30-year defender featured for the Kingdom at minor and under-21 level before making his senior debut in 2011 against Cork in the Allianz League.

The Laune Rangers man was handed his senior championship debut against Tipperary in 2012 and was part of the 2014 All-Ireland final team that beat Donegal.

Crowley was rewarded with an All-Star that season and he also won seven Munster titles and two league titles.

Kerry manager Peter Keane said: "Peter Crowley will be missed particularly for his energy, determination and experience on the training field and in the dressing room.

"I’d like to wish Peter the best of luck and thank him for the commitment he has always shown to the green and gold."

Crowley suffered a season-ending knee injury while on club duty in April 2019 and therefore missed the rest of the season.

He did recover to line out in 2020 with his final appearance coming in the shock Munster semi-final defeat to Cork in November.
