Robert Lewandowski won't be joining Man City | Guardiola

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has ruled out a move for Robert Lewandowski before the end of the transfer window.

The Polish international is reportedly open to leaving Bayern Munich but the Bavarians would only consider a 100-million Euro offer.

“Firstly, in my opinion, Lewandowski is best striker in the world. We are so happy that we have him in our team," Bayern president Herbert Hainer said of the speculation.

“He still has two more years on his contract. He will definitely play those with Bayern Munch. I said it already a few weeks ago – I could imagine him staying with us for even longer. He will honour his contract."

Lewandowski has scored 297 goals in 331 appearances for Bayern and worked under Guardiola during his spell with the German champions.

City have been locked in a transfer saga with Spurs over England captain Harry Kane this summer and the Citizens' boss was asked this afternoon if they can turn their attention to Lewandowski instead.

“Next question,” Guardiola bluntly said at his press conference. “Lewy is such an important player for Bayern Munich and he will stay at Bayern Munich.

“I am not going to talk with 11 days left about the transfer market.”

City broke the British transfer record to wrestle Jack Grealish away from Aston Villa earlier this month and Guardiola insists he's happy with his options if they don't manage to sign a striker before the deadline.

“Absolutely, I'm more than happy. It is the same team except for Sergio Aguero coming in for Jack Grealish last season.”
