Sergio Garcia is 1.8 million dollars better off after capturing his first major golf title after 73 failed attempts. The Spaniard won the US Masters at Augusta - beating England's Justin Rose on a playoff after both ended up on nine-under.
The 37-year-old achieved the title on what would have been the 60th birthday of his idol, two-time Masters champion Seve Ballesteros.
It prompted former European Ryder Cup captain Paul McGinley to take to the tweet machine.
Who writes the scripts at this place ?? Bravo Sergio 🇪🇸🇪🇸🇪🇸🇪🇸#Seve

When you have to be in Today FM for 6am staying with The Masters until it's conclusion isn't really an option, unless you want a day at work like this.

Thats why social media is so handy to see how Sergio did it. Like this. Steely nerves. Does that mean we have to fail 73 times at something before we succeed? #rulesoflife #believe.
