There was a big debate on social meeja during Ireland's 1-0 friendly defeat to Iceland about how to pronounce the name of the Republic of Ireland debutante from Bandon, Conor Hourihane.

The West Cork crowd are very vocal about their own and took to social meeja to berate those mispronouncing the local heros name. So thanks to Today FM Sports colleague Phil Egan, the man himself resolved the issue.

This the first episode of Today FM's pronunciation guide. You're welcome.

Twitter great for the laffs/mum logic

Who do you follow on Twitter? If you don't 'do' social meeja, I completely understand. Everyone has a favourite network. I joined them all but found Facebook wrecked my head with notifications of people sharing photos of their cat/dog/pet. Twitter on the other hand is a great location for finding out news and info from the horses mouth in the form of sports stars or actors, sometimes in realtime.

Both of these factors came together in the tweet below. Are you a fan of Humans on Channel 4? One of the lead actresses Emily Berrington is about to return with a third series (yay!) but also looks to have a great sense of humour judging by this tweet.

Thanks to the Academy......

Thanks to everyone actually. My morning colleague Sinead Spain told me that someone from Murray, the pr consultancy told her, that myself, Gavan Reilly and Matt Cooper are on the 2016 list of Ireland's 100 most influential journalists. The Cooper lad is top of the tree. Good to see the Cork crowd winning something major for a change. A summer portent? Also a useful pointer for Irish politicians to avoid falling out with Gavan Reilly unless you want a few digs from Irelands most influential political journalist. Thanks to you if you're following. If you have a passing interest in quirky Irish stuff, hurling and the odd bit of tech thrown in it's @paulcollinstipp. Tweetcha!
