How will the scheduling of Friday night matches in the Six Nations go one wonders?

If we get a result tonight we'll all be in favour of it anyway! Its a venue that Irish fans have great memories of.

Do you remember the meeting of the countries six years ago?

Ireland travelled to Cardiff on the last day of the 2009 Championship knowing a win would hand them their first Grand Slam since 1948.

The home side scored first with two penalties from fly-half Stephen Jones to lead 6-0 at half-time. However, a four minute period in the second half would tilt the game in favour of the visitors.

In the 43' minute Irish captain Brian O'Driscoll buried over from close range with the try confirmed by the TMO and Ireland lead for the first time in the game.

The try of the match and possibly one of the most iconic touchdowns in Irish rugby came only minutes later.

Ireland had a scrum just inside their half and after the ball was fed to the right, Ronan O'Gara chipped over the rushing defence with the ball sitting perfectly for Tommy Bowe who's angled run meant he never lost his stride.

A 40 metre sprint for the line ensued and although he had plenty of attention from Shane Williams, the Irish winger dived over under the sticks and the visitors lead 6-14. Jones kicked a further two penalties to bring it to a two point game and a nail biting finish for the away supporters.

The fly-half appeared to dash Irish hearts with a 76th minute drop-goal before Ronan O'Gara brought the Irish dream alive with his own two minutes later.

The drama didn't end their however and a discretion in a ruck in the last play of the game gave Stephen Jones a 48 metre penalty to steal the win at the death.

Unfortunately for him but to the delight of the men in green, it just dropped short and with that Ireland had won their Grand Slam.

Great memories.

A win tonight would set up some match against the Sasanaigh. Bring it on.

No Craicski

One of the bravest and best rugby stars of that era and the player who lifted the Grand Slam trophy in 09 has had a slightly different run in to this Six Nations match. Did you see Dricos instagram post?

He'd never survive the Today FM ski trip by the looks of things.

'You've got to ski' they said. 'You'll have a ball' they said. #18stitches #inaball

Life Through Murray's Eyes

Ever wondered what it's like to be a member of Ireland's rugby squad.

Conor Murray is one of the key men in Ireland's rugby squad and how he performs tonight will have a key bearing on the outcome.

Here's what his average day looks like thanks to Aer Lingus!

Adrian at a crossroads

Always sad to hear of a business closing its doors.

Ex jockey turned trainer Adrian Maguire's mulling over his own future and seems set to quit the training game.

The Meath native with a yard in Mallow county Cork revealed he has only "five paying horses" in training after having a winner with Knockraha Pylon in the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Mares Beginners Chase at Thurles.

'Things are getting tougher and tougher for everyone training horses and (I) just can't make ends meet now. It's getting tougher, I'm not the only one.'

The 45 year old, returned to his native Ireland to train following his recovery from serious injuries sustained in a bad fall at Warwick in 2002 that ended his riding career, after he had more than 1000 winners.

Here's Adrian in happier times. Adrian rode Cool Ground in the 1992 Cheltenham Gold Cup where he won by a thrilling short-head over The Fellow with Docklands Express back in a close third.

His victory was a shock at 25/1 on one of his greatest days in the saddle.

Hopefully more good fortune comes his way soon.

Congrats Aidan O Mahony

It looks like Rathmore dancer and All Ireland winning Kerry gaelic footballer Aidan O Mahony has plenty on his mind at the moment.

The Dancing With the Stars' contestant has welcomed his first baby into the world with wife Denise Healy.

Congrats mammy and daddy and welcome Lucia!
