For the second year in a row it's going to be Dublin versus Mayo for the All-Ireland football title.

After Mayo's statement win against Kerry yesterday, the reigning All-Ireland champions raised the bar even higher this afternoon at Croke Park, blitzing Tyrone by 2-17 to 0-11.

It leaves Jim Gavin's side on the verge of a hat-trick of All-Ireland titles, and on today's showing they'll take some beating.

For Tyrone, it may well be the end of the road for the legendary Sean Cavanagh, after 89 championship appearances, and three All-Ireland titles.

Cavanagh and Dean Rock exchanged frees early on, before Con O'Callaghan rattled the net for Dublin on five minutes. The Cuala man dummied through a limp defence, before firing a rocket to the top corner.

From there, Dublin didn't look back. Tiernan McCann pulled a point back for Tyrone, before three unanswered Dublin scores made it a five point game.

Peter Harte and Colm Cavanagh chipped over scores to keep Tyrone alive, but two points for Con O'Callaghan and further scores for Dean Rock and Brian Fenton extended the gap to 7 at the break.

In the second half, Jim Gavin's men just grew stronger as they emptied a star studded bench. Eoghan O'Gara scored 1-1 in his cameo, while Paul Flynn kicked 0-2. It could have been even worse for Tyrone; Jack McCaffrey blazed high and wide when a goal looked certain, and Kevin McManamon rattled the crossbar after a stunning solo effort.

There was still time for Stephen Cluxton to rub salt into the Tyrone would, saving a late Peter Harte penalty.

Dublin and Mayo will return to Croker on September 17, with Sam Maguire the prize on offer.

Are we looking at the three-peat, or the end of a 66 year wait?
