Marko Arnautovic has left West Ham to join Chinese Super League champions Shanghai SIPG.

The Austria international failed in his attempt to get a move to China last January and ended up signing a new contract with the Hammers.

However, the 30-year-old was unable to replicate his early season form for the second half of the season and will move to China for a reported £22.4m fee.

Arnautovic scored 22 goals in 65 appearances during his two seasons with the Hammers

He will be managed by Portuguese coach Vitor Pereira and some of his team-mates will include former Chelsea midfielder Oscar and Brazil international Hulk.

West Ham confirmed the news with a short statement on their website:

"West Ham United can confirm that Marko Arnautovic has joined Chinese Super League champions Shanghai SIPG for an undisclosed fee.'

'The 30-year-old Austrian departs after two seasons at London Stadium, during which he scored 22 goals in 65 appearances in Claret and Blue."

West Ham are hoping to replace Arnautovic with Celta Vigo striker Maxi Gomez after meeting his €50m release clause.
