Wolves have become the first Premier League club to install a drive-through COVID-19 testing centre for their players at their training ground.

The Wolves' players are yet to use the station but backroom staff have already been tested with the Premier League hoping other clubs will follow.

The Athletic has revealed the Premier League plans to roll out similar testing across all 20 clubs after a £4 million deal was agreed over the weekend with Hong Kong-based genetic testing company Prenetics.

It's believed players will be subjected to two tests per week and the samples will be analysed at The Doctors Laboratory (TDL) in London before results are delivered within 24 hours.

The procedure takes place in the car park of the training ground and takes less than a minute.

Project Restart appeared to move one step closer on Monday when the UK Government revealed its plan to allow elite sport to resume behind closed doors from June 1st.

However, the Premier League is to hold further talks with its members and the Government because the majority of top-flight clubs are opposed to the idea of playing games at neutral venues.

Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham have joined that list of clubs that want home and away games when the season resumes.

There are still 92 games remaining and it was hoped the season could resume in mid-June.

Premier League chief executive Richard Masters says clubs have not raised the possibility of scrapping relegation but he did remind clubs that the season will be decided off the pitch if it's not done on the pitch.

Regardless of how the season plays out, Premier League clubs could be forced to pay nearly 350 million pounds back to broadcasters, even if play can resume this season.

The refund has been requested because matches would not be taking place as expected if they were played without fans and at different times to originally scheduled.
