This morning in our meeting, we were chatting about the phrase of the phrase 'mickey mouse'. Where does it even come from and why do we use it for something that's a bit shoddy?! So Ian put it to the listeners and asked for those uniquely Irish phrases that we're so well known for. We got so many suggestions but have narrowed it down to the Top 5.....
The Top 5 Uniquely Irish Phrases
- Mickey Mouse - 'Ah that's a mickey mouse cabinet now, sure you'd only have to look at it and it'd fall down'.
- Cat Malogan - 'Jesus, that traffic is absolutely cat.'
- Giving out - 'She was giving out yards to him'.
- As full as a bingo bus - 'He was as full as a bingo bus after the chippers'.
- Making strange - 'Oh the baby made awful strange with her'.
