Following the phenomenal sold out tours of 2010, 2012 and 2014 , Mario Rosenstock Live will premiere at Cork’s Opera House tonight before embarking on a huge nationwide tour. I was able to catch up with Mario, I nabbed him as he was making his way down Panna this morning and I can confirm he is PUMPED. The show is ready to rock it’s going to feature all new sketches with brand new characters as well as the much loved Gift Grub favourites. The tour will hit the Lyrath Kilkenny, Wexford, UCH Limerick, INEC Killarney, the Radisson Athlone, Clanree Letterkenny, the Theatre Royal in Castlebar, Black Box, Galway and Dublin. It might seem like an unlikely pairing but Elton John is teaming up with the Red Hot Chilli Peppers to record some new music. Elton has been branching out musically of late, working with British act Clean Bandit as well as writing with Lady Gaga for her upcoming album. Anthony Kiedis, the Chillis front man got in touch with Elton when was in LA at the start of the year, they hooked up in the studio and have recorded some tracks. I’m not sure where Elton John fits in with the sound of the Red Hot Chilli Peppers but I’m sure they’ll make it work. Maybe he’ll be rapping…
Ellie Goulding has NOT had lip fillers….or so she says. The singer has been sporting big pouty lips for the last number of months but she has flatly denied having any help with them saying she has a fear of needles and doesn’t like doctors. She credits her fuller pout to her make up artist who she says works magic with a lip pencil. I have loads of lip pencils and NONE of them can make my lips look like that. Come on Ellie, the jig is up.
Louis Walsh was famously absent from last year’s X Factor, he was let go to make way for Nick Grimshaw on the panel but last year was a bit of a damp squib and the public were calling to get Louis back. And….he’s up for it. He confirmed that Simon confessed that he wished he’d never let him go and asked Louis to go back half way through last year. Louis said he’d definitely be up for it this year but only if the judging panel is right. He said his ideal panel would be Nicole Scherzinger, Sharon Osbourne, Simon and himself. He doesn’t rate Cheryl, reckons she has lost a bit of energy and needs to go and write a hit for herself. So, watch this space.
