Ballymoney NS is a small two-teacher, two-classroom school in Ballineen, West Cork.

All year, the two classrooms have been completely separate, each with their own entrances and breaktimes.

The school's principal, Shireen Rountree, got in touch with The Ian Dempsey Breakfast Show to share this amazing mural, created by pupils in both classrooms as a way to reconnect.

The mural is made out of 12,400 bottle caps, which they've been collecting from the community since last September.

Resource teacher Esther Quin drew the 24ft long artwork on six sheets of plywood and it was painted by the senior class last December. The junior class took over when they returned to school in March and stuck the bottle caps in place.

The mural, which depicts the villages of Ballineen and Enniskeane, was unveiled this week just ahead of the summer holidays.

We're big fans!
