The Beastie Boys debut album Licensed To Ill turned 30 this year and Paul McLoone has chosen it as his Classic Album Of the Week.

Licensed To Ill was released on November 15, 1986 by Def Jam and Columbia Records and it is their fastest selling debut album to date. The album sold over 10 million copies and was the first hip-hop album to top the Billboard Album Chart.

The worldwide success of singles like "Brass Monkey" and "(You Gotta) Fight For Your Right (To Party!)" changed the hip-hop genre forever and paved the way for other hip-hop acts.

Slayer's Kerry King played lead-guitar on the album's sixth single "No Sleep Till Brooklyn" and he also appeared in the video which is a parody on 80's glam-metal. The album was named by Rolling Stone Magazine as the best debut album of all time in 2013.

Licensed To Ill is The Classic Album Of The Week on The Paul McLoone Show. To hear more great music just like this tune in every Monday-Thursday from 9PM!
