Leinster's Dave Kearney has suffered more bad luck and his season looks to be over.

Ahead of their rescheduled URC clash with Munster at Thomond Park on Sunday, the province has confirmed the winger underwent a procedure on a hamstring injury last week and will be  out for a number of months.

Kearney only made his first appearance of the season last month, having suffered ankle and back problems previously.

The 32-year-old has played with Leinster for nearly 13 years, having made his senior debut in May 2009.

Out-half Ross Byrne is also a doubt for the inter-pro derby.

He had to be taken off for a head injury assessment in the first half of their 45-8 win over Connacht on Saturday.

Elsewhere, there was positive news in relation to both Ciarán Frawley and Conor O’Brien today.

Frawley came through the game against Connacht Rugby with no issues after his return from a facial injury.

And O’Brien has returned to full training after recovering from a hamstring injury.

Ahead of the game against Munster Leo Cullen's side sit top of the URC table, eight points clear of their rivals who are third.
