Jidenna Theodore Mobisson is from both Nigeria and America. Having a Nigerian Dad he spent the first 6 years of his life in Nigeria before moving back to the States.
He studied Ritualistic Arts in Stanford after turning down his acceptance to Harvard!
Jidenna is signed to Janelle Monáe's Wondaland Records label and distributed through Epic Records. He is already a Grammy nominated artist for his song ‘Classic Man’ in 2015, but spent the past two years recording his debut album.
Jidenna developed his personal style in college, where he learned about the power of fashion from his psychology professor Philip Zimbardo. However, he would not adopt his signature dandy style until the death of his father in 2010 Jidenna describes his look as "heavily inspired by the Harlem Renaissance with hints of traditional West African design.
