U2 has paid a special tribute to Dublin Radio station TXFM which plays its final song 8 o'clock this evening, bidding farewell to a legion of loyal fans.
The station which carved a niche for itself as an outlet for new and emerging irish music announced in March it would go off-air in October, after no applications were put forward to the BAI to renew the license.
It gained huge credibility among the music community as an alternative to a packed commercial music market.

The Dublin alternative rock station has been broadcasting for the past two years on 105.2 and as Phantom FM for 8 years before that.
