World leaders past and present have been paying tribute to Nelson Mandela. The former South African President passed away peacefully at his home in Johannesburg last night, surrounded by his family. He was 95 years old. President Michael D Higgins and Melanie Verwoerd, South Africa-born politician, ambassador and former director of UNICEF Ireland, paid tribute to Mandela on the Ray D'Arcy Show. Personalities from the world of Irish sport have also been paying their respects.

On Thursday, little Ben had his dreams come true on The KC Show:

The KC Show and Make-A-Wish Foundation granted brave Ben four wishes live on air. He got to meet Santa and will be travelling to Lapland. He was given an iPad and got to be a chef for a day! The 6-year-old is fighting acute lymphoblastic leukaemia. More information and photos here

Toys galore:

Earlier in the week, the star of The Late Late Toy Show, eight-year-old Domhnall, chatted to Ray about meeting his hero, Robbie Keane, on live TV:

A lovely moment:

Singer-songwriter Josh Ritter joined Ian Dempsey in studio this week for a beautiful performance of song 'New Lover' from his new album. Good to have you back, Josh!

In economic news...the countdown is on:

We're counting down the days to Ireland's impending state of freedom: the Troika is leaving! With a little help from Angela Merkel, you can see how long is left until you can officially celebrate Ireland's new-found freedom.

And with only 2 and a half weeks till Christmas...

The Ray D’Arcy Show kicked off the festive season with their annual Christmas broadcast from The Shelbourne Hotel, Dublin today. Check out the photos here
