For this week's Friday interview, Matt was joined in studio by Clare legend Anthony Daly.

In his autobiography 'Dalo', Anthony takes us from the early days growing up in Clarecastle through the early part of his career with Clare, the golden years and the extension into management with both Clare and more recently, Dublin.

He spoke to the Last Word about the heartbreak of closing his business after 15 years and his determination to face his problems head on and get his daughters educated come what may.

He also spoke openly about his eldest daughter, Orlaith, who has suffered from a neurological condition which triggers seizures.

He told Matt about the premature loss of his brother Paschal. The day of the 1998 All-Ireland final which Clare should have been contesting, Anthony found himself back home, for the wake, walking the village’s deserted streets.

“I wasn’t thinking of missed opportunities, fallen glory or what could have been - I was only thinking of Paschal.”
