Ciarán Byrne tells The Last Word that he got burned during the Celtic Tiger and is still trying to mop up the mess now.

"I bought my apartment in 2005 for €335,000. If I sold it tomorrow I'd be lucky to get €250,000 for it."

"My wife, before we met, bought hers for €299,000. Similar properties are selling now for around €170,000."

He says the logical thing would have been to offload the apartments and buy a house but that in Ireland 2015 it would actually be easier to book a holiday in space.
