Nadine Dorries was born and raised on a council estate in Liverpool.

Her family were part of the Irish Catholic community who came to Merseyside on the docks and she spent her childhood summers with her extended family in a small village on the west coast of Ireland.

Nadine trained as a nurse in Warrington and Liverpool and went on to run a school in Zambia and later founded her own childcare business.

In the 2005 general elections she was elected as the MP for Mid-Bedfordshire, a position she still holds nearly a decade later.

In 2012 she created a political storm when she described David Cameron and George Osborne as ‘two arrogant posh boys’ and also caused some controversy when she appeared on ITV’s ‘I’m a Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here’.
